1. Rules matter more than the project name
An appointment system can be a simple calendar or include multiple locations, payments, cancellations and permissions. For a quote, we describe what each user does, the exceptions and when a feature is considered complete. A list of screens does not describe all that work.
2. Data and integrations change the effort
Connecting an available API is different from recovering incomplete files or integrating a system without documented access. We review data quality, permissions, volume and existing tool restrictions. If information is missing, the proposal should identify what needs validation and how changes will be handled.
3. Cost extends beyond construction
Ask for a proposal that separates development, infrastructure, licensing and third-party services. Review maintenance, support and new features too. Janambre includes source code and six months of initial support under an agreed scope; this does not mean free infrastructure or unlimited feature additions.
- What does the handover include and who controls the accounts?
- Which recurring fees depend on third parties?
- What is covered by support and what is new development?
4. Make the project accessible through stages
Choose a result that can already be used, not a first release that needs every other module to work. For example, start with data entry and retrieval and postpone a nonessential integration. Stages must respect technical dependencies and the real workflow.
It can also make sense to use existing tools where appropriate. The lowest upfront price does not always mean the lowest operating cost; review both before deciding.
What to ask for in a quote
Look for a proposal that lets you recognize what you will receive, how you will validate it and what is excluded. Give every provider the same scope when comparing quotes. A target budget helps prioritize but does not replace defining the project.
- Deliverables, acceptance criteria and stages.
- Assumptions, exclusions and external services.
- Source code, access and support terms.
- A process to request and quote changes.
Guidance based on how we scope projects. Scope and investment are confirmed for each case.
